‘Schutzhund’ is the German word for ‘protection dog’ and refers to a sport IGP (IGP- Internationale Gebrauchshund Pruefung, previously known as IPO) that was developed initially to determine which dogs could be used for breeding and which had true working ability.

Nowadays many people are involved in this sport as a form of activity with dog that gives outlet of inborn drives, promotes confidence and builds great relationship.
There are three phases in IGP: Tracking, Obedience and Protection. During those training sessions you can chose whether you want to work on the Obedience or Protection part.

Closer look and understanding protection dog sports- Is it aggression training? Is it intimidating dogs? Is it attack dog training? do dogs enjoy it?
